Since its introduction in 1976, Ting has been a true Jamaican drink. Its distinct grapefruit taste is like no other, the ultimate fusion of tart and sweet.

The drink has grown greatly in popularity over the years, lending its taste to many events. In the latest venture, Ting has partnered with the internationally acclaimed Afropunk Festival, already staged in Paris, London and New York and with upcoming events in Atlanta and Johannesburg. It is an annual arts festival that celebrates and unifies a kaleidoscope of cultures through music, film, food and art. As part of its sponsorship, Ting has devised the Tiki Hut experience at the events, offering Ting mocktails and other exciting free samples while maintaining the ultimate chill spot for patrons.

If you are unable to enjoy the mixes at Afropunk, Ting invites you to create your own chill spot this holiday with these refreshing mixes made by Ribbiz Ultra Lounge head bartender, Marcus Brown:

Love and Ting

1oz home-made sorrel syrup

Cubed Ice

1 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice

Tin

Directions

Add 1oz home-made, sorrel syrup, cubed ice, 1 1/2 oz of fresh lime juice and fill with Ting, garnish with a cherry.

Tingonade

This mix is the ultimate refresher! All the citrus flavours of Oleo-Saccharum (lemon, lime zest & sugar) combined with Ting and a dash of nutmeg is the ultimate relaxer and a Afropunk favourite.

1oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

2oz Oleo Saccharum,

Dash of fresh nutmeg

Dash of Angostura Bitters

Crushed ice

Directions

Add 1oz freshly squeezed lemon juice sweetened with 2 oz Oleo Saccharum, a dash of fresh nutmeg, a dash of Angostura Bitters topped with Ting served over crushed ice.

It's a Passion Ting

1oz passion fruit puree

1oz mango puree

1 1/2 oz fresh lime juice

1oz Falernum

Directions

Add 1 oz passion fruit puree, 1 oz mango puree and 1 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, sweetened with 1 oz home-made falernum and topped with Ting.

Falernum is the distinguishing feature of this surprising cocktail. It doesn't disappoint with an almost festive combination of almond and clove flavours cured in sugar and light rum, which is optional. Despite heavy flavours, the drink is surprisingly refreshing, as is synonymous with Ting mixes.
