Reid says all in place for PEP's Ability exam
Minister of Education Senator Ruel Reid says all is set for administering of the Ability component of the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examination scheduled for Tuesday, February 26.
This will be the first sitting of PEP, which has replaced the Grade Six Assessment Test (GSAT) as the national secondary school entrance examination.
“Teachers are now ready. Teachers are aware of the different components of the test which are fully ventilated. Active engagement with teachers started this year and they have been actively preparing the students by utilising material provided by the Ministry,” Reid said while speaking this morning at a post-cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House in St Andrew.
He said that just over 40,000 primary-level students islandwide will sit the examination.
The Performance Task component of PEP will be administered on March 27 and 28, while the Curriculum-based Test will be done on April 17 and 18.
